The NCLEX is a pass/fail examination that uses Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) to administer the exam. CAT merges modern technology with modern measurement theory to estimate the candidate’s ability as he or she answers each question. When the computer is 95% certain your ability is above or below the passing standard the exam ends.
