We suggest you review this entire email as multiple actions may be required and can take time to be completed. If you arrive at the test center and this entry requirement is not met, you will be turned away, and the registration, all fees, and the Authorization to Test (ATT) will be forfeited. You would then need to register, pay, and be granted eligibility by the NRB again.
Important: The names listed as “first name” and “last name (surname)” must match on all 3 of these on the day you arrive for your examination:
- The name on record with the nursing regulatory body (NRB).
- The name on the acceptable ID you bring to the exam appointment.
- The name on your Pearson VUE account.
If your name has changed since your current (acceptable) ID was issued. The safest option is to obtain a new ID with your current name before registering for your examination. If that is not possible, you must arrive at the test center with both the acceptable ID that has the incorrect name and also and legal name-change documentation that matches the name on record with the NRB and the Pearson VUE account. This must be the original (copies will not be accepted), examples include:
- marriage license
- divorce decree
- court action legal name change document
If your name has changed and you have NOT received eligibility, you may contact Pearson VUE to request this update and will be required to provide supporting documentation.
If your name has changed since you received eligibility from your NRB. You need to ensure the NRB has the correct and current name. Your NRB can overwrite the name on the Pearson VUE account at any time.
If you are still unsure how to proceed, you will want to contact your NRB to confirm how to best ensure that the name information each has on record matches the acceptable ID (or legal name-change documentation) you will be bringing to your exam appointment.
If you made an error when creating the account
If you have not received eligibility from your NRB then you may contact Pearson VUE to request this update and will be required to provide supporting documentation. If you have received eligibility, then you will need to contact the NRB to make this name change for you on the Pearson VUE account.
