What does it mean that Pennsylvania (PA) partially implemented the Nurse Licensure Compact on Sept. 5, 2023?
- Nurses who hold active, unencumbered, multistate licenses issued by members of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) are allowed to practice in Pennsylvania under their multistate licenses.
- A multistate license must be issued by the home state before a nurse can practice in other NLC/compact states.
- The Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing is currently not accepting applications for multistate licenses.
