You do not need to renew your additional compact-covered license(s) if your home state (primary state of residence) is a compact state and you hold an unencumbered active multistate license there.
You can get a list of the states where you currently have the authorization to practice if you download/print the Nursys Nurse Report. You can also view a map.
- Sign in to Nursys e-Notify or find your report on Nursys.com QuickConfirm.
- Click the button/link there to Download the report or Print it.
- You will also see a “View Now” in the box that says “Where can the nurse practice as an RN and/or PN?" Click this to view the map.
- The map will display the Nursys participating states in which this license has authorized to practice as an RN or PN.
- Select a state for more details on authorization to practice for that state.
You can also learn more about the Nurse Licensure Compact at nursecompact.com including eligibility requirements for a multi-state license and how to correctly maintain active licensure when changing your primary state of residence.
You can refer to our list of NCSBN member nursing regulatory bodies (NRBs) to find contact information, including a link to the NRB’s website if you would like to confirm this with the NRB.
