This applies only to candidates who took and passed the NCLEX but were not licensed by the nursing regulatory body (NRB). These candidates may ask to request a score transfer when applying to another NCLEX-participating NRB. (If the applicant was licensed, see instead: Nursys Verification for Endorsement.)
Applicable candidates must request the score transfer from the NRB that currently owns the exam result.
Please be aware, that not all NRBs participate in score transfers. The following NRBs do not transfer nor do they accept transfers.
- California Board Of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians
- College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta
- College of Nurses of Ontario
- College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba
- College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia
- British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
- Florida Board of Nursing
- Illinois Board of Nursing
- New York State Board of Nursing
- Ohio Board of Nursing
- Tennessee Board of Nursing
- Texas Board of Nursing
If one of the relevant NRBs does not participate in score transfers, applicants must work directly with the NRB they are applying to, for directions on how to provide alternative proof of examination. NCSBN does not provide proof of examination.
You can refer to our list of NCSBN member nursing regulatory bodies (NRBs) to find contact information, including a link to the NRB's website.
