Program codes are available on the Registration page of the NCLEX website. Scroll down to the "Program Codes" section and click the "Download Program Codes," button.
If you know your program name, you may use the "Search" icon on the top of the pdf and type in the name of your program.
If you are not sure of the program name or cannot find using the search icon you can scroll the PDF. The NCLEX Education Program Code PDF is set up in the following order:
- International Education Codes (10 characters long). Internationally educated candidates will need to use the code for the country where they were educated not for a specific school/program.

US Education Codes are by state in alphabetical order.
- State
- Location/City
- US Program Code (10 characters)
- Type (RN or PN)
- Program Name

Canadian Education Codes are by province/territory in alphabetical order.
- Province/Territory
- Location/City
- Canadian Program Code (10 characters)
- Type (RN or PN)
- Program Name
If your program is not listed:
- For a Canadian province or territory not listed (like Quebec) please use the Canada International Code. Please see the article, I can't find my Canadian province or territory listed for a program code.
- For a program that has changed or closed contact your nursing regulatory body (NRB) to obtain the correct code.
- If you are not sure which program code to use, contact your NRB for further assistance.
